Girls High School Golf:

Lake City won their first ever state girls golf title Wednesday, posting a two day score of 673…44 shots ahead of second place Providence Academy at The Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.

Lake City was led by two freshman.  Jordana Windhurst-Knudsen had a two day total of 157 which was second individually.  Freshman Ella Matzke had a 168-good for 10th overall.  Senior Molly Kennedy carded a 173 and sophomore Emma Berge a 175.  Lake City also had 8th grader Mattie Mears and sophomore Brooke Bee compete as well.

Coach Steve Randgaard, in his 35th year as girls golf coach, had three other teams finish second at state.  He now has his first championship squad.  Molly Kennedy was the lone senior on the state roster so the future appears very bright for Lake City girls golf.
